This extremely large somewhat “folksy” quilt is made of 1” strips (1/2” finished) of pieces of fabric taken from the clothes and scarves of my deceased mother and the mothers of many of my friends.
It is a mixture of cottons, silks, satins and synthetics and is hand quilted.
Where some of the fabrics were a bit worn, I have made some “bead soup” to cover the wear.
It has been in the making for a couple of years and now that it’s finished it’s a wonderful lasting memory of those wonderful mothers.
