My Grandma taught me every useful thing I've ever known how to do: one of which was how to sew. She wasn't much of a quilter but after she passed away at our local Hospice, I made a quilt in her memory for the Hospice Auction (one of their annual fundraisers). I used the X-block template (if my memory serves me, I think that's what it's called) and made it lap-quilt sized in bright cheery colors. It's been over a year now and I still miss her every day.
