I fell in love with the cottage feel of the quilt when I found the instructions in Down Under Quilts magazine Issue 83 2005.

I needed a baby boys quilt. I am stash busting, so not allowed to go buy more fabric.
The quilt once pieced looked a little to boring so I added the duckies to help make it look more babyish.

This is a baby quilt that I was trying to use the fabric up.
I found the embroidery picture at http://www.needlenthread.com/ I hand embroidered the panels and then designed the quilt around them.

I call this my Fence Quilt. I designed it to hang in my house for summer.

I have been attempting to use up some of my scraps of fabric, so this quilt started with the small log cabin blocks and grew from there.
My goal was something simple in the center so that the handquilting - a 3/4 in. grid could surround it.
I love the way this quilt turned out and think those little log cabin blocks make the quilt.
